The Fuji 18-55 looks like a well made faster lens but image quality wise it doesn't look like anything special, I was going to wait for the X-E1 + 18-55 kit but after seeing the samples I went for just the body only.
I've seen a review on it. It's super sharp comparing MTF graph.
xf18-55 (it's in Chinese,first graph is in wide angle,and second in tele)
It's almost always 100 more, and some to 575(18mm f8).And not to mention the
if you base image quality solely on sharpness then those charts are great, fact is that no sample photos I've seen from the Fuji 18-55 produce anything over what I've seen from the Sony NEX 18-55
