Setting KLYP Light Level

My Manfroto KLYP is a great addition to my iPhone camera but I'm wondering about its adjustability. Right now I can adjust a subtle light increase from off to mid-low light then it jumps to full power all at once. Is this normal? I would have thought that I'd have adjustable light volume all the way up. Does anyone else have ths problem or is mine defective?
