The impressive 18-55 2,8-4,0

Excellent write up...

As a XPro-1 owner I was wondering how good this lens will be..    I own the 35mm and 60mm..both amazing per my standards.   I normally don't like zooms, but have to admit that this one is very very interesting indeed...   It would make a perfect walk around lens and I'm glad to hear that it retains a compact size that suites this line of Fuji-X cams..   I agree that not having the aperture markings is a let down.

BTW, not sure what Yodabashi is asking but you can find them on Kakaku.com for 49,000JPY but only pre-orders are being accepted at this time..  

I'm over in Chiba and our local big electronics store (K's Denki) doesn't have a sample yet.   I was in there just the other day and almost fell over when I saw the 18-55 on display only to pick it up and discover that it was a plastic sample.. The Japanese do their plastic lens samples just as good as they do the fake plastic sushi in the restaurant windows!

PS.. If you do buy into the X line.. make sure you go to the Fujifilm JP website and register it.. you might get a nice gift from them if you do so!
