Having pixel peeped the images I really can't see any advantages at 1:1 between either sample aside from the moire. Though if I zoom in to 200%, I can detect slightly better line definitions on the K-5 IIs. Though I honestly don't think anything other than the moire would ever carry over in print tbh.

I would have to agree with you about the K5ii & iis, this was also seen at the pixel level with 800 & 800E. The D800  has the advantage in that the shear resolution of the total frame and when viewed as a whole the moire  seldom shows its ugly face.

Now if I had purchased the D800E and used it in DX I am sure I would be have the same moire problems with 16mp photos as the K5IIs is having,  instead I went with the D800 for this very reason.

The Camera is only a tool, photography is deciding how to use it.
The most important piece of equipment in photography is the lens cap, if used incorrectly all your photo will be under exposed.
The hardest part about capturing wildlife is not the photographing portion; it’s getting them to sign a model release
