D7k got a new friend

One of my buddies today was so kind to organize and buy a black V1 for me, well where I usually buy they had only white ones and personally I prefer a decent black. So my D7k has now a little friend as companion.

Since I got the cam very late today I didn't had much time to play around with it, so did so far just the usual boring couch potato stuff with it. Testing a little bit under low light indoors and these things.

So far I realized that the default V1 JPG settings output can tolerate a relatively large resharpening amount. The default autoWB setting is Nikon like quite good and matches correct colors in low light very well. The AF performance under low light is Ok as far as there is some light and clear to differentiate objects it focuses on. In single shooting mode under low light the shutter speed sometimes feels slow due to the sound/blacking screen/EVF turn around time, but the resulting image captured is always fine. The EVF though no OVF is a joy to use for such a still small cam, good sized bright and clear.

The menu structure is easy come easy go, as a D7k user I feel more than at home here. Overall the handling is easy and relaxed, no deep structures, quickly to access so you can concentrate more on the important things like your composition etc.
