I was wondering if anybody can help with this. I have an old full manual 50 that front focusing fairly badly at wide open, and less and less as I stop down. By around F5.6 it seems to be gone, but it makes my low light shooting basically useless. I am wondering if AF fine adjust will fix this?
The thing is, it has to be something with my lens VF combo, because when I use LV it never misfocuses. I know it's not my OVF that is miscalibrated because I have other lenses that work fine with manual focusing. Is this just something that can't be fixed or will AF adjust maybe cure this? I am guessing it is still happening through the aperture range but I just don't see it at smaller stops as the DOF is much larger.
AF micro-adjustment should be able to fix this and presumably can be done on this lens only (you haven't mentioned which camera). Regarding LV, it always focuses correctly because it's looking for maximum contrast on the actual sensor where the digital recording is made.
