Very disappointing news regarding RX1 focus peaking.

Thanks for the replies, that's where I would have expected it to be helpful and yes, the right lens characteristics would make a big difference to the effectiveness of peaking.

I wonder if the RX1 optics simply don't lend themselves to giving good results with unmagnified peaking. A fast, wide-angle lens is probably not the best candidate and so perhaps Sony judged it was not a good enough tool in this case.

We'll see when the camera is in circulation. I certainly look forward to getting my hands on one!

Do you find that peaking also helps to set an acceptable focus zone in bright sunlight when the LCD is all you have?
