Hello,
years ago i started to give up in using my SLR a Minolta with a Sigma Zoom and began to use a FZ 20. In every forum i read: Take care of the noise of the cam - you can't take a pic with ISO 400 because of the image quality.
Developed picture of a size of 20 x 30 cm (7.8 x 11.8) showed: Noise was only visible in underexposed pictures.
In Low-Light Areas the cams got their problem.
Years have past technique has changed and grown.
Now as i checked the DPReview platform and looked into old camera reviews i am totally surprised:
Noise is still the most complained thing but:
Check the pictures please look at the developement of camera technique - open your eyes and take a look:
Is there still noise or is it only a discussed noise prob wich exists in the head but not on the printed/developed pictures of many of them who discuss it so often that i can not hear it anymore:
The first picture shows the FZ 20 ISO 400 example
Now the example from the FZ 30 ISO 400:
And now look yourself the FZ 150 picture: - Please try yourself ISO 100 till 1600:

If you select ISO 1600 you will discover that it looks better than ISO 400 on the FZ 20 ...
The ISO 1600 Pictures of the FZ 200 posted here in this forum from the dance contest and the madonna concert showing much more that has changed over the years and that this FZ Lumix models had moved forward to a serious camera model for us.
Panasonic has changed from a "Noise King" to a serious "Allround-Megazoom-King"
