the 24-120 3.5/5.6 VR is way better than the first non VR version, totally different optics.
It's not crap lense (the first is optically, but well built), can say a "good average" lense for the cost and range and VR
but the 24-120 f4 is way better than the 3.5-5.6 at wice the cost, but worth it
