I do wish Sony would come out more promptly updates however big or small, but to be fair, they at least ship firmware that works.

The same can not be said of other companies.

Some makers release firmware frequently and are lauded for it, but their firmware starts out as alpha quality. I'd rather have finished working firmware thanks, then be tied to a maker whose timetable may not be the same as mine!

My favourite example is Fujifilm. On the X100 it took them almost two years to fix autofocus, to allow you to redefine the useless RAW button despite releasing other incremental fixes more quickly, they didn't address the most serious (AF performance) until this year. When first released the firmware had plenty of bugs and if I am not mistaken some of them remain - switching certain modes or control dials while the camera writes to the card can cause a lock up; simply inserting your SD card into a Mac would cause the camera to run poorly afterwards unless one reformats the card, and so on.

That all said I hope Sony doesn't release the RX1 with MF magnification and focus peaking tied to one another, although if they do, that failing alone *probably* would not stop me from purchasing the camera.
