But from what I gather I suspect it'll be close to the GF1 in speed, which is perfectly decent (for me) even if not lightning fast.

I'll also try to compare the 14-45mm panasonic (first version) to the 18-55mm. Hopefully they are comparable, as I was very pleased with the sharpness of the 14-45mm.
