The reason responders suggested only m4/3 equipment was because of the title of your thread which was is MFT good enough and the answer was yes and this is a m4/3 forum.

I guess I didn't explain myself: I wasn't referring to the fact that people suggested m4/3 cameras, that's obvious! I was referring to the fact that most people suggested the most expensive m4/3 cameras out there (em5/gh3). So my question was: is it because they are weather sealed, or is there some other reason?

While the $1000 for an all metal weatherproofed EM5 body may sound high to you it is not more expensive than an equivalent metal bodied APS-C camera from CanNik and the same equivalent focal length lenses are smaller and lighter.

I don't want to start a flame here on camera systems, as I said I have to do some research; but my point was that not only is more expensive than a weather sealed 60D, but it has a much smaller sensor; I thought that was a good "part" of the total cost of a camera. Again, I have to google a lot of m4/3 info...

(of course, your point about a smaller system is valid, and is the main reason for this thread. Not that much gain on the bodies, but on the lenses the difference is big. Can't wait for a mirrorless FF with interchangeable lenses)
