As stated above, in Nikon speak VR or VRII just designates when VR was added or when VR was updated on a lens.
Yep, looks like you are right as Nikon only lists it as VR and not VRII:)
I wonder why BH, Adorama, Amazon, etc all have it listed as VRII:
