Why no focus points shown with AF, yet does with DMF?

Hey all

Sorry, a stupid question I can’t find the answer to (with the NEX 6). Why, when I set the camera to AF, it doesn’t show the focus points (even when focussing correctly). Yet, when I set it to DMF, it will show the focus points. It shows the PDAF grid in both modes but no green boxes where it’s focusing in AF. I checked and it was set on multi-point.
