It isn't a real Leica, but Steve Huff (from stevehuffphoto.com) said, that from his experience, this is the lens that most closely mimics what he calls the "Leica look" out of any lens for the Micro Four Thirds lens.

Does that mean you shouldn't get it? No. It's a good lens, heck some say it's a great lens. I'm undecided on whether my next lens will be the 25mm Pany or Olympus' upcoming 17mm lens.

Well, I actually bought it a month ago. Yes it's sharp and the colours are very nice and I'm not regretting it one bit. I bought it because I wanted a 50mm full frame equivalent and the f1.4 aperture. Given the size of this lens they could have made it f1.2 if they wanted to and I would have paid more for it willingly.

Thanks for pointing out the Steve Huff experience with it. It's an excellent writeup. I've never used a real Leica lens and I'm curious how much better a real Leica can be but I doubt I want to go through the hassle of manual focussing a Leica on my OM-D. And the sheer expense of Leica lens ownership.

You mentioned you're interested in the new Olympus 17mm as well and I say go for it and get them both! Well I just might do it too because I'm trying to emulate the Henri Cartier Bresson style and he mostly carried a 50mm and a 35mm.
