Also it's better for the screen to be 16:9, if it was 4:3 then 16:9 would be letterboxed ie smaller and anyways 16:9 is growing in popularity...

Fair enough. I would have thought quick and easy access to rapidly adjust aperture or shutter speed (or both, in which case no separate exposure adjustment is necessary) was more important than exposure. I also regularly tinker with exposure but I rarely change it more than +/-1 which is easier to accomplish by pressing the relevant side of the dial, whereas I regularly go from wide open to F7.1 between shots shooting in A mode.
