the unique optical design requirements, it is more difficult and much more expensive to make an excellent large aperture (larger than f2.8). pancake lens. I doubt many N1 owners would be willing to pay the very high price for such a lens. One big advantage the N1 system has over DX, NEX, and M4/3 is their much less expensive lenses that are nonetheless optically very good to excellent quality.

I hope you're right about the price, but we have to wait for the next batch of lenses. The 18,5mm, while not expensive, actually costs the same or more as similar full frame lenses.
