Just read a few more comments here, need to clarify my own.
I totally agree with parts of a portrait subject to softness from shallow DOF but I have trouble with soft eyes. Your pics are really good and the eyes pull you in, thats when you notice the eyes in the first are not both in focus. OK, each to their own and I like artistic styles but these two pics call for sharp eyes IMHO. Fun stuff this!
