Two flashgun set up

I have an E-5 and a FL 50-R and have been experimenting with RC flash and, while getting some interesting results, the light and shadows are not looking balanced.  I'm considering adding a second flashgun but don't want to spend a huge amount on another FL 50-R till we see where 4/3 is going.  However I can get a Metz AF 50-1 for about a third of the price.  Can I use the two together remotely, and if so will using "odd" flashguns prove confusing?
