Compactness is the raison d'etre for the m43 system. So I would rather expect (and hope for) a high grade 12-50mm f2.8-4. That could be about the size and weight of the Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8 zoom, which balances very well on the OMD or GH bodies.

Hopefully not just "high grade" but the having the best possible IQ, i.e. becoming a legend like the old 43 lens.

I think the raison d'être of M43 should be more than just compactness, but redefining the interchangeable lens system in terms of usability, which means a proper balance of various trade-offs in the design of the modern camera like IQ, size, weight, features and handling.  It is OK to have the choice of some larger M43 cameras like the GH3 provided it is justified by additional features and functionality that are not possible with a smaller body, so that the camera is still more compact than equivalent DSLRs.
