Bad rap on Canon 50 1.4

You can't expect a lens for this price to be extremely sharp at 1.4, but it is quite acceptable (for the price), that's what I am saying, and furthermore, by stopping down, it does get quite sharp.  I included a sample at 1.4 which I think is quite usable.  Others say the micro contrast and sharpness at 1.4 is terrible.

Sure the AF is a bit noisy, but it's not objectionable to me.  You have keep in mind, this is a real deal on this lens at the price it is selling, yes it probably could use an update, but be prepared to pay a heck of a lot more.

I have seen comparisons of various 50 lenses and some say the Canon is the best.  The Sigma may be a bit sharper, but he AF issues make it unreliable.  I don't have any AF issues with my Canon.
