YEH! Polycarbonates are tougher than plastics. Rough, tough and tumble. So there.

There's no monolithic "polycarbonate" material. This term covers a wide range of plastics, some very tough, some less so. Some very soft and flexible, some relatively brittle. Some suitable for some purposes, but not others. Some cheap, some expensive. Some moldable, some machineable.

I certainly wouldn't assume the material in the Oly lens is the same as what is in a Glock, nor that what is in the Glock would be appropriate for a lens.

"Plastic" is neither good nor bad. Some plastics are good in some applications, some are very, very bad in certain applications.
