Deciding between Sony hx100v and canon rebel t3

I trying to decide between the sony cyber-shot hx100v and the canon rebel t3, my absolute maximum that I can spend is what the t3 costs, which is why the sony is appealing to me, it costs a bit less. I will be shooting landscapes, pets, fashion stills and indoor/low light photos. If the t3 is much better of a choice, eventually I can buy lenses, just for right now I cannot spend more. I have heard the sony is slow and frustrating to operate which makes me a bit hesitant..Which one would you buy if you were in my shoes? Thanks for the help!
