Sony isn't the first to not put a flash on top of their higher end cameras. If the end the flash were the case, we'd seen it with them and others. We'll continue to see them adding a flash, but it'll be on the lower end camera. Imo, when Sony designed this camera, they had the professional more in mind. Most of the professional shooters use studio lighting both in studio and location. That's me. I really don't use the built in flash.

What's interesting is, I remember the Maxxum 9 camera. A work horse that I wanted so bad, but couldn't afford it. The camera was praised and Nikon copied some of the concepts from it. BUT, the camera got criticized by the magazines for it's built in flash. Go figure.
