I spent past four days in Istanbul, took apx 200 shots, RAW, never felt any limitation from card write times. Do you folks expect burst timings similar to a dSLR ? Use a dSLR, then.
P7700 is a compact. Expectations should be managed accordingly.
Much lest frustrating.
