I'll throw in another recommendation for Cameraworld. The shop is on Wells Street, off Oxford Street and not very far from the Jessops branch there.
Recently I was in Jessops and interested in looking at a camera they didn't have on display (the silver version of a camera they were displaying in black) and they took it out the box to show me but wouldn't let me handle it or turn it on. Fair enough, someone is going to buy that item. So anything on display is ok to play with (if the security alarm cord restricts you they will untether them if you ask nicely). There are some experts working in Jessops, but all too frequently I've been in there and you ask a question only to find the assistant starting to look nervously at the features list on the shelf tag. By no means all of them though, don't get me wrong.
Cameraworld is more old school. Good people, while the cameras in the glass display cases there is no problem taking them out and playing with them.
And specifically on Fujifilm stuff, I happened to be in both Jessops and Cameraworld this afternoon. They both have the Fuji XF but only Cameraworld had the X-E1 in stock (a silver one on display). The Jessops guy said they have had the information and demonstrations of them, but awaiting units coming in. Cameraworld are bundling the body with the 18mm lens for £1149 and I think there was a free case thrown in. I don't know if they would bundle it with another lens if you ask them. No sign of the 18-55mm lens yet of course. In another week, Jessops may well have the X-E1 too as Amazon UK have had stock for a couple of weeks now.
