White Balance n exposure using copy stand
Nov 12, 2012

While photographing my wife's collage art works using K5 and FA31mm, I tried using a copy stand fitted with photo bulbs of 3200 kelvin. I found it inpossible to get the color right regardless of where I set the white ballance. I tried the tungsten,  and auto settings. What should I have used? I was not sure how to use the Manual option. I ended up using natural light on our patio with WB set at Shade. That worked fine.

A second issue I had was with exposure. I did bracketing and found I had to shoot at +2 to get a good result with exposure dial set at center weighted. The  full setting resulted in even greater under exposure and spot metering gave spotatic results depending on the art.
