If you use the viewfinder a lot you might try using the DISP to cycle to the viewfinder LCD view:
"For viewfinder: Shows only shooting information on the screen (no image). Select this mode when you shoot using a viewfinder. Press the Fn (Function) button and select the function for which you want to change the setting. The setting screen for the selected function opens. (Quick Navi)"
It can help you avoid the menu system altogether.
