Petraeus and Broadwell learned to know each other in 2006 when he gave a lecture at Harvard University.
He gave her his card.
They met again in Wasington DC and went jogging at lake Potomac in 2008.
Petraeus was impressed by the fitness of the young woman. He run the mile in 6 minutes, which is a murderous speed, and she kept pace with him.
Broadwell later wrote: "I think I stood the test!"
