Thank you for looking, and for the kind words. A marvelous little item on the "As it Happens" program on our embattled Canuck Broadcasting Corp caused me to realize that there is another side to these apparently very shy birds. It was a report that the Crane sanctuary near a small English town was grateful - and making daily use - of the long unused tough acrylic riot shields the local police had "surplused" to them. Apparently to protect themselves from the stabbing beaks and tearing claws of a couple of Sandhill Cranes whenever they had to service their enclosure.
Nice shots of Huatulco in your Gallery, btw. Reminds me of a trip there a few years ago.
