Plastic - fantasic?

I agree that the back lens cap is junk--only because functionally it is annoying to get on and off.  Otherwise, I think gripes about the build quality of plastic-bodied lenses are mainly based on aesthetics rather than function or durability.  I seriously doubt that I will ever wear out the lens mounts on my Olympus kit lenses.
