Plastic - fantasic?

The Nikon 50mm f1.8 cost $120 and has a metal lens mount.  It is also one of the sharpest lenses Nikon makes.  The 4/3 oly plastic junk is rather cheap, and at $300 not that much a bargain considering. My $200 Pana 45-200mm has a metal mount, OIS, ED glass  and seems like its built ok but likely has more plastic vs. metal.  I am very underwhelmed with OLY of late.  Expensive lens shades (the LH48 is a $90 option) that are not included, plastic lens mounts.....  not good.
