Split screen accuracy is dependent on accurate eye alignment in the viewfinder, and not good with f5.6 lenses.

LiveView zoomed in, while not always convenient, is the most accurate manual focus option.

Many problems turn out to be a lack of intimate knowledge of complex modern camera equipment.

Who buys f/5.6 lenses that is also interested in using split screen manual focus (unless youtaking liking about the super telephotos)???

Your answer is to use LiveView?  Ridiculous.  You expect people to go around holding their camera out with arms extended to take photos?

LiveView may be the most accurate.  But irrelevant.  It is not even remotely practical for hand held normal shooting operation with manual focus lenses.
