I'd skip the Minolta 1.7. Ugly bokeh, veiling and fringing problems, and downright soft at large apertures. Images don't have that punch and smoothness to them.

I'd disagree. While the bokeh is harsh wide open, it actually gets much better if you stop down a bit. At large apertures, the 50/1.7 delivers incredible central sharpness (corner sharpness is poor wide open), and at smaller aperture, you'd struggle to find a difference between any of the three. They're all extremely sharp.

Also, I don't see the fringing problems. There's pretty much no CA.

Any of the other 1.8's and 1.4's are great. Just depends on your budget and if you want to use it for fullframe in the future.

I think all of them are pretty good. 50mm lenses have been around for a while, and they're pretty much perfect today.
