I tried converting RAW images in Lightroom today and can see what many people have mentioned in the past - LR can't get anywhere near the detail out of the files that a converter should. The converted RAW files appear to smudge fine detail, whereas the out-of-camera JPEGs are excellent. Not sure whether Adobe intend to improve but I have my fingers crossed - I don't like the idea of using 8-bit jpegs!
At this point Silkypix (a.k.a. Raw File Converter supplied by Fujifilm) is the only fully functional RAW file converter that works with X-Pro 1. Everything else seems to start with conversion that assigns subpixels to the nearest pixel (producing "zipper" or "jagged edges" effects), and uses postprocessing to compensate.
