Why is 70-300 VR so cheap?

I have owned a 70-200 VR and two copies of the 80-200 f2.8. And yes, they are better than the 70-300 VR. But I realy like the 70-300. I use it mostly at F8, and by then this lens is pretty sharp. Besides that it is small ( ish ) and light.
