Camera makers should improve the sound performance as while the videos may be HD but the sound is just LP or even 45 rpm quality.

I think the major barrier to really good sound from a DSLR is that there simply isn't room to house worthwhile microphones inside the DSLR body, and thus the mics are tiny buttons.
