But seriously. The 100-300 is going to be challenging in this regard from what I know about it. If you're going in for the first time, you want the easiest AF available from your Canon gear. M43 will do just fine for non-moving subjects, but as far as BIFs or any type of fast moving subjects or shooting from a moving vehicle, I'd say stick with an APS-C DSLR for the faster and more accurate AF. Even if you were experienced in this endeavor, you'd probably find using M43 a bit challenging for this. Ever hear that M43 is bad for sports? Sort of the same deal here.

Thank you very much for the reply.

I don't know if a safari requires that fast AF... at the end:

1) it won't be a fully-photographic experience, so I'm afraid we'll be in harsh light most of the time...

2) I'm not that interested in birds (= fast moving)

3) most of the (good) picts I've seen have "still" animals in it; I don't think I'll be that lucky to get fast-moving action.... I might be wrong though

4) I'm interested in MFT for the light setup of a camera + 100-300 vs APS-C + 100-400

5) for closer picts, I would bring my 5d + 24-105

Again, thank you very much for the reply. I get your points.
