Looking for advice...

I just upgraded from an sx30 to sx50 and am loving my new camera! My grandson (15) is asking for a camcorder to post videos on Facebook and YouTube . I had been thinking of giving him the sx30 for Christmas but I'm not sure he would be happy with it if what he is wanting is to shoot videos and upload them....I haven't used the sx30 for movies and when I try I can't get them to show on the TV, iPad or computer...not alone try to upload them to a social networking site! I've read the manual and have looked for tutorials and can't find any...If I can't figure it out then I won't be able to show him and that would be a big let down for him....so would it be better to get him  a camcordors and sell the sx30? I was hoping that giving him the sx30, I could encourage him into still photography...but he wants something that will be easy to produce movies and post them...he is hoping to become famous with his videos Thanks for any advice you can give!
