Does the Black kit lens 18-55 have its own firmware.

I read this on the forum :-

I just bought a used black 18-55 kit lens and I updated it to ver. 2 and AF definitely seems faster and more accurate even in my dim room.

and it sounds as though the kit lens has its own firmware.

I have an Nex-7 kit with 18-55 and have upgraded the Nex-7 firmware to 1.01, is there another one for the lens?
