FZ200 Digital zoom

I have never used digital zoom before. I only ever use optical zoom as digital just enlarges the centre of the image, and you can usually get better results from cropping with photoshop. However, yesterday I went out to try my new FZ200 round the city. I tried various photos at different focal lengths and was amazed at how good the digital zoom photos came out straight from the camera. I have attached three photos to show the difference in zoom length. First shot at widest setting, second from same spot at 600mm optical zoom and the last one at maximum digital zoom. Not something I would use every day, but nice to know it works, at least in bright sun light. I have attached full size images so sorry if they are slow to load. Oh and I don't know how to rotate them on here, but you can still see the difference in the zoom.
