WX150 Movie Question

|
I'm sorry about the previous subject line. I do not know how it happened.
I bought a Cybershot WX150 yesterday and am confused with the movie mode switch. Does it do anything? Movie recording begins when the tiny movie button is pressedwhen the switch is in either still or movie mode. The shutter button does not start movie recording in either mode. What is the purpose of the switch. Am I missing something? It does not seem to do anything for me.
I take videos quickly from awkward positions like out of a car window or from a bicycle. It is easy with my Canon SD880 to hold the camera in one palmed hand and press and release the shutter button with the same hand. This old camera does a fine job but it is time to use HD video.
Thanks for any advice.
