Yes, it's an A-mount lens. It's a great lens, with stabilization that works. The downside is the size and weight. There are also similar Sony and Tamron lenses, but only (the old version of) the Sigma is stabilized.

I would recommend the LA-EA2 adapter, for the convenience of AF.

There's also the LA-EA1 which has very slow AF, communicates the lens info to the camera, and allows the camera to set the lens aperture.

Finally there are cheap eBay adapters. These don't communicate with the camera, but I believe they allow you to set the aperture manually/mechanically (but without knowing it's precise value, you need to guess this).
