P7700 - any way to review image while in shooting mode?

Hi guys. Just bought the P7700. Really liking the image quality so far. I was looking for at least 10x zoom but 7.1x is pretty close. IMHO this camera is in a class by itself - it gives the larger sensor point and shoot cameras a run for their money, AND it has 7.1x zoom, which is much more zoom than the larger sensor cameras that the P7700 gets compared to. Seems like the best compromise available if you want more reach but still very good image size.
All my prior cameras - nikons and canons have all had had the ability to review the last picture taken while still in shooting mode. Usually by pressing the "ok" button or a zoom button..etc..
I cannot figure out how to do this with the P7700 and I cannot find any hint that it is possible in the manual.
Anyone know how to review the image while in shooting mode without having to go into playback mode? Or is it just not possible with this camera?
I have found that by pressing the play button it puts me right into the playback mode and pressing the shutter brings me right back to record mode, so in effect it is the same thing, but I just figured there was a different way to do it without officially going into playback mode.
Thanks!
