Of course, Nikon use "cheap" Taiwanese labour to put their gear together - with the associated consequences (see the D600 issues with dirty sensors).

People really are strange. They want well paid jobs in their own countries, they want high quality products AND they want bargain prices!

Want, want, want ....

If you don't like the price - don't buy it. Simple.

If you are comfortable with companies moving their production outside their own countries where labour is cheaper and making a profit this way, then Nikon and Nike might be a better option for you. But don't complain when there is oil spots on your sensor and your kids can't get a job!
