Agreed and if I'm not mistaken, this is what the OP was looking for. Simplicity in use...maybe not so much in how the files are stored. Again....I've not used Aperture or DxO, but I can say for sure that the processing of files in LR is much simpler than in PS because all the non-darkroom tools are stripped out. PS menus are so complicated and way more than is needed to process an image for print.
