LR4 is incredibly simple to use.

I have to disagree. I've used LR for about a year now and I like it a lot. However, I find the file handling extremely difficult to learn. If you don't use LR to do all of your photo file handling, you can easily end up with a mess.

I still wonder if I am doing things correctly sometimes. I often wonder if I could recreate all my LR files if I were to suffer a HD failure.

Question: What do you do all week?
Answer: Mon to Fri. Nothing, Sat & Sun I rest!

I'm not sure whats so difficult about it.  I have one LR catalog on an external hard drive. All my files and the catalog are stored in a single 'PHOTOS' folder with subfolders for the year and subsequent subfolders for shoots.  When I import my files, they get copied to the year subfolder (chosen during the import process) and the subfolder with the shoot name (also chosen during the import process).

And example of where to find my files would be:

DriveLetter\PHOTOS\YEAR\ShootName\FILES  e.g. f:\Photos\2012\TaylorMiller Wedding\DCS01234.ARW

I rarely touch the originals and all my exports for web and printing go into a separate EXPORTS folder in my Dropbox account.

These are all backed up to two separate other drives, one portable, one on my home NAS. If I ever had to get a folder back because of corruption, then I would easily have it.  This all seems second nature and very simple to me....am I missing something?
