LR4 is incredibly simple to use.
I have to disagree. I've used LR for about a year now and I like it a lot. However, I find the file handling extremely difficult to learn. If you don't use LR to do all of your photo file handling, you can easily end up with a mess.
I still wonder if I am doing things correctly sometimes. I often wonder if I could recreate all my LR files if I were to suffer a HD failure.

Question: What do you do all week?
Answer: Mon to Fri. Nothing, Sat & Sun I rest!
I agree with with you on this Ed. The file handling has been a daunting task for me. The trick is once Adobe has touched one of your image files, any future changes to that file MUST be done within that Adobe program or you risk loosing track of it or worse.
I really like the LTR4 RAW conversion, but despise the file system. It is best suited for working pro's or those with keeping track of very large numbers files. I also use Adobe PhotoShopElements with LTR4 for some of its additional editing features that are not in LTR. Very handy.
PSE 11 is now available and has RAW vs.7.2, one step back from LTR4-RAW vs.7.3. However, the PSE11 vs.7.2 RAW lacks some of the fine tuning that LTR4 has.
For RAW simplicity, I recommend the PhotoShopElements, it is very simple and extremely easy to use. The plus is, it is very robust, comes with a much simpler filing system and it's cheap; well under a $100.
