LR4 is incredibly simple to use.

I have to disagree. I've used LR for about a year now and I like it a lot. However, I find the file handling extremely difficult to learn. If you don't use LR to do all of your photo file handling, you can easily end up with a mess.

I still wonder if I am doing things correctly sometimes. I often wonder if I could recreate all my LR files if I were to suffer a HD failure.

I agree about the file handling, but I just don't use it. My LR catalog is always empty once I complete my processing. I import photos into LR, process them, export them, and then remove them from the catalog.

Given this workflow, I find LR very easy and intuitive. I also like that they are adding new features the whole time at a very reasonable price, and they are constantly improving their processing engine.

What I don't like about LR is that they are not adding in important features that would make Photoshop more and more redundant. They have a very expensive piece of software to protect, and they leave out some features because of that.

For example, the Adjustment Brush is very nice, but you can't make as good a selection with the brush, even using Auto Mask, as you can with the top-notch selection and refinement tools in Photoshop. In addition, they don't have an Invert Selection option on the Adjustment Brush, which would be fantastic (even better would be a create-new-brush-as-the-inverse-of-the-current-brush option). I'm sure it would be relatively trivial for them to incorporate these.
