Canon G15 vs G10

I currently have a Canon G10 and was thinking of upgrading to a G15.  One thing i noticed was according to the DPReview comparison

The max resolution of the G10 is higher than the G15.

G10 Max Res: 4416 x 3312

G15 Max Res: 4000 x 3000

Is that going to be an issue and if so when?  I often crop after the fact instead of doing zooming on pictures as sometimes you later want more or less

Debating about myself and another person both upgrading from G10s to G15 or going with a different brand all together.

Some of the other comments about the G10 pictures being warmer also have me concerned...
